2011 Manitoba Election Surveys

James BeddomeJon GerrardHugh McFaydenJohn Selinger

Manitoba Wildlands will be sending each political party in our province a series of short surveys about Manitoba's lands, waters, resources, climate, and environment. The surveys will include public policies and commitments made by the NDP government. These surveys will be posted on our website both as blank surveys, with answers from the political parties posted as these are provided. Manitoba Wildlands will track whether the surveys are being answered. Information will be on our news page, in our brag box, and on the government - elections page inside the website.

The surveys will be posted during summer and fall 2011 in advance of our October 4 Manitoba general election. The political parties will be provided with a time table and deadline for answers to each survey.

2009 Manitoba NDP Premier S/election

MB candidates by Fred CuratoloWhen Garry Doer announced his resignation as premier of Manitoba he put in motion steps for the Manitoba New Democratic Party (NDP) members to select a new Leader, who then became the next Premier of Manitoba.

The date for the next election in Manitoba, according to the Elections Act, will be in October 2011, four years after the previous province wide election. That means the NDP leader who replaces Mr. Doer as Premier of Manitoba will be in office until October 2011.

Manitoba Wildlands sent a survey of environmental questions, mostly about lands, waters, and climate to each candidate for leader/premier. Mr. Ashton responded, Mr. Selinger did not.
